Charlottetown Power Rings Program

Power Rings is a program endorsed, developed and hosted by the Charlottetown Ringette Association to give your child that head start to the season.  Program runs in September and focuses on Ring Control, Skating, Agility and Game Play.  All money generated from this program goes back into our Association which helps fund programs, development, tournaments and various other associated costs.  Goaltenders within our Association who attend Power Rings are eligible for a rebate to help them develop their skating abilities.

Charlottetown Goaltender Development Program

The Charlottetown Ringette Association puts together a FREE bi-weekly session of Goaltender development throughout the Ringette season.  It is instructed by Danielle Saunders with help from other Goaltenders instructing your young goalie with basic goaltending techniques and skills.  It is free for any player registered through our Association and it is encouraged that coaches take part on or off the ice to further educate how they can incorporate Goaltender Development into their regular team practices.

The following programs below are not affiliated or endorsed by The Charlottetown Ringette Association, however; we feel it is important for all parents to have all the information they need should they wish to have their child's skating and ringette playing abilities developed further.  Each program is unique and offers different aspects of training, development and social activities.  Player development is important and is key to your child's confidence and on-ice abilities.  Please take the time to read each of the below, visit their website and/or Facebook page to learn more.  If you have a program you would like to list below and feel it would be a good fit for a Ringette player, please send an email request to troy.fraser@charlottetownringette.com

Skate Canada Programs: CanPowerSkate and CanPowerSkate’s Pre-Power

CanPowerSkate is a ten hour action packed, high energy, instructional power skating program geared to hockey and ringette skaters that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance.  Skills, techniques, and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations.  It is an excellent complement for those athletes playing on hockey or ringette teams.  Its unique skill award program provides incentives and motivation for skaters to continue and achieve.

CanPowerSkates’s Pre-Power is designed for young skaters, approximately four to sick years of age who can stand up on skates and move forward (shuffle, walk, or glide) who may not be ready for CanPowerSkate Level 1.  Pre-Power helps develop basic skating abilities in a power skating-specific environment, including balance skills, forward and backward skating, stopping, turning and agility skills.

Full hockey/ringette gear is required. Programs are First Come First Served Basis and run primarily out of Simmons Arena in Charlottetown and Cody Banks in Sherwood.
